STRUCTURES
DIABLO™ SUPERCORSA V4 SP shares the latest generation tyre structure of DIABLO ROSSO™ IV Corsa and DIABLO ROSSO™ IV.
Structural materials are shared with DIABLO™ SUPERBIKE but their assembly on DIABLO™ SUPERCORSA V4 SP is tuned to provide optimal tyre behaviour both on road and on the racetrack.
Compared to Pirelli racetrack-only tyres, Pirelli Hypersport tyres provide high speed stability also on extremely long straight stretches such as highways.
PROFILES
DIABLO™ SUPERCORSA V4 SP features the same racing profiles of DIABLO™ SUPERBIKE used in WSBK.
The multi-radius sharp contours deliver an immediate transition from lean to upright and a quick change in direction, whilst a flatter shoulder portion provides high grip and line holding while cornering.
Differently from DIABLO™ SUPERBIKE, DIABLO ROSSO™ IV Corsa and DIABLO ROSSO™ IV, the profile of DIABLO™ SUPERCORSA V4 SP front 120/70 R17 features a special tyre bead shape to reach maximum performance both at road pressure on road and at lower pressure on the racetrack (2.3bar front / 2.1bar Rear with warm tyres).
This is a distinctive feature of DIABLO™ SUPERCORSA V4 SP, the racing tyre developed also for maximum road performance.
Thanks to the combination of tyre structure, profile, compounds, and tread pattern, DIABLO™ SUPERCORSA V4 SP delivers its peak performance both at road pressure on road and at lower pressure (2.3bar front / 2.1bar Rear with warm tyres) on the racetrack.
COMPOUNDS
DIABLO™ SUPERCORSA V4 SP features a Dual Compound layout with Base for both front and rear tyres.
The front tyre is the first Supersport front tyre with a Dual Compound, Cap & Base Layout. The narrow centre stripe is designed for high speed stability and high stress resistance, while the base layer provides enhanced thermal stability to the tyre. The wide shoulders with Racing SC3 compound provide plenty of cornering grip both on road and on the racetrack.
The rear tyre, developed to work in harmony with the front tyre, features a Dual Compound layout with a dedicated Base. The Racing SC3 shoulders provide Full Thrust exiting the corner, while the centre compound ensures high abrasion resistance when upright. The Adaptive Base Compound is designed to work in combination with the exterior compounds and provides enhanced thermal stability and contact feeling.
TREAD PATTERN
DIABLO™ SUPERCORSA V4 SP features the latest evolution of the patented FLASH tread pattern:
The FLASH head enhances water drainage when upright and contributes to enlarged central footprint
The centre slick portion tunes tread stiffness by reducing grooves’ deformation, enhancing homogeneous thrust no matter the lean angle
The FLASH Tail orientation follows the direction of lateral and longitudinal racetrack-specific leaning forces combined, providing regular wear and performance consistency combined with quick warm-up
The reduced amount of lateral grooves means more rubber to the road at mid-lean and full-lean and delivers enhanced cornering grip
The 100% slick closed-loop on the shoulders’ sides provides enhanced thrust at the extreme lean angles
